So, lets jump right into the next part of the "Tips for Internet Marketing" series.

#11 Wake Up! Go Mobile.

How you are integrating SMS and instant messaging into your website? There’s a service called BeamMe.info which again through a widget allows you to share with your users – to share any piece of information directly to their cell phone. A perfect application for this would be, regarding your enhanced listings or custom products, allowing you to send that information straight to their cell phones via SMS. This service also allows you to put a contact widget on your website which enables customers to contact you through an SMS message from your website immediately.

There are some pretty amazing systems that involve mobile devices. In 1984 there were only a thousand mobile devices, by 1992 there were over 1,000,000 ……….. And this year there are over a billion devices. Apple alone sold 7,mm iPhones just in the single Q3. There’s a real trend - movement for the web to go mobile. So coming up with a strategy that makes your website accessible through mobile devices and are readable on a mobile handset should be a big priority moving forward. More and more people especially in the real estate industry or travel industry which are mobile professions, people are going to want to have access to your website on the go.

Quick tip – TestiPhone.com allows you to punch in your URL and it will show you exactly what your website looks like on an iPhone.

#12 Make Your Website Crawlable.

Your website needs to be crawlable by the search engines. 31 billion web searches are performed every month - are you being found?

Seomoz is a trifecta tool, just punch in your URL and it will show you just how strong that URL really is for a number of different criteria. You can see this will give you a good base line of where you are now and where you need to go to move forward.

Another great tool to look at is SEO-Browser which will render your website like a search engine sees it. The tip here is you need to have a lot of text on your website. Text is what search engines see and is what they are looking for so make sure you give the spiders what they are looking for – make this a big priority in your site development.

Another resource is Website Grader, much like Seomoz is a great trifecta tool that will let you see where you are and where you need to be to move forward.

Bonus tip is SEO tools. For those of you that are using the Firefox web browser SEO for Firefox is a tool that gives you instant access on any website so you can start to see how other websites are faring in your area and how they stack up against your own website.

Active Marketing:

#13 Become a Content Creator.

This is the single biggest thing you can do because ultimately the more content you create the more findable you are. And the more findable you are the more knowable you are. ……….. So the easiest way to create content on your website is your Blog. A blog is a tool, a way for you to get content up on your site very quickly without the need to go through a web master to update and upload that new content. So your Blog should become your content Hub.

As an example, there are different types of real estate Blogs – three main categories are …………neighborhood, niche and consumer focused with how to’s. You may choose any of them or any combination of them to form the content of your Blog. The ideas that I have seen are market reports, community info, local news etc, which can be updated on a semi or weekly basis.

Why bother Blogging, if you are thinking that way, I would suggest aside from having a good content strategy in place and putting that information out there is because of the (MSM) Main Stream Media. The public is always seeing headlines of local and world dangers and ultimately there is a lot of FUD out here. FUD means fear, uncertainty, and dismay and there is a lot of that out there. Fear amongst consumers these days is all but too much, you as the vendor or Realtor are in the perfect position to help consumers (buyers and sellers) understand the truth of what’s really happening in your local market.

Blogging ultimately has a real value that lets you become the media. I’m not suggesting you put out a lot of fluff and promotion around the market place but you can reach out to consumer and answer their questions and really educate them which is a great thing. Like me, providing you with timely information - helping you position you for your own success!

#14 Show Your Face To The World.

More and more as we move through the years with technology you need to show your face to the world. Video Blogging is happening more and more with Real Estate agents, Vendors of all kinds. Having a daily video blog where you just speak to the camera and share what’s happening in the local market and them post it – it's easy.

There are a couple of services you should look at: Ustream.tv which allows you to have a live video chat on your website, Mogulus is another service that allows you to have a live video chat, Stickam is another service, and Welcomemat which allows you to upload videos. So bringing video to your websites - creating that sort of content will increase your crawlability to the search engines.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to website SEO and how to knowledge, but these easy tips can really help. Give it a go - use what appeals to you and "Position yourself for success".
